Radio Barking was, once upon a great time, an attempt to give London the world's first "comedy" radio station.
A host of the great and good backed the idea including John Lloyd (Chairman), Douglas Adams, various Pythons and pretty well everyone in the world of British comedy and entertainment except.... Richard Curtis.
Thanks to Lord Chalfont et al at the UK's Radio Authority it was a doomed idea.
The idea was simple. An eclectic - mostly amusing - mix of intelligent words and some interesting (grown up) music thrown in between.
Hopefully this website gives a sense of what the original Radio Barking could have been.
Douglas Adams is no longer with us but we dedicate this site to him, his wit and his love of words, music, nature and distractions.
Not necessarily in that order though.
